BUDA PLEIN AIR COMPETITION
EXHIBIT & SALE
Award-Winning Artwork from the
2024 Buda Arts Festival
SEPTEMBER 23 - OCTOBER 12
Experience Buda like never before through the eyes of talented artists who have captured its essence in real-time. During the Buda Arts Festival, artists spend four intense days creating plein air artwork—paintings made entirely outdoors, on location, and in the elements. This unique method requires skill, speed, and an intimate connection with the environment. The resulting pieces are more than just paintings; they’re snapshots of Buda’s charm and character, frozen in time.
Don’t miss this exclusive opportunity to view and purchase these one-of-a-kind works that beautifully depict the place we call home. This exhibit is your only chance to own a piece of Buda’s heart.

PEPPAMONIUM
The darkly surreal paintings of
KAI AGUIRRE
OCTOBER 18 - NOVEMBER 9
KAI AGUIRRE's debut solo show, Peppamonium, draws inspiration from their dog Peppa, a constant muse, alongside the animals that have marked their life. But don’t be fooled by the cuteness. The creatures in these works serve as both guardians and provocateurs, offering comfort while teasing at the darker edges of existence. By confining surreal oddities within the frames of their work, Kai crafts a space where twisted beauty and strange comfort intersect—providing both an escape and a mirror to the complexities of the human experience.
With every brushstroke, Kai invites you to confront inner turmoil and emerge on the other side, finding an uneasy shelter in the surreal. Step into Peppamonium, and let these paintings guide you through a world that’s both familiar and deeply, eerily unknown.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Kai Aguirre is a dark surrealist painter based in San Antonio, TX, whose work delves into the strange, the unsettling, and the whimsical. A graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Kai brings their expertise in sequential arts, painting, and storyboarding to create vivid, otherworldly narratives on canvas. Known for blending twisted, dreamlike imagery with the familiar warmth of animals, Kai’s art offers a haunting exploration of personal identity, mental health, and the boundaries of reality.
