Acrylic on Wood Cradle Board
"Burning Shadows", a meditation on growth and change. The figure is completely without a face; this is thankless work. Her body twists and turns as it leans in, exhausted but encouraged by the rich hues rising up from the dark as a willingness to burn away her own fears encourages the scene to change. Myth and storytelling, tradition, and practice; when studying works of art, we are engaged with the subject, and sometimes, it encourages us to engage our own growth.
