Bridget Gates

Bridget Farias Gates is the Executive Artistic Director of the Central Texas Theatre Academy. She is the former Artistic Director of the EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens where she created and led theatre programs and productions for the last 12 years.

 

She has worked professionally with ZACH, Austin Shakespeare, City Theatre, Scottish Rite Children’s Theatre, The Baron’s Men, Poor Shadows of Elysium (Cleopatra), Last Act, Different Stages, San Marcos Spotlight Theatre (Fantine in Les Miserables, Mrs. Johnstone in Blood Brothers).

 

She’s directed over 75 full mainstage productions for various companies and has studied with the Royal Shakespeare Company three different times.  Bridget was the Shakespeare for Youth instructor at the Texas A&M Folio Event and teaches theatre workshops all over Central Texas. Her husband, Kevin, and daughter, Rosalind are the joys of her life.

Jake Rodriguez

Jake “B Nimble” Rodriguez is the owner of Takeoff Terminal Studios, and Urban Grooves Productions. And although he may be relatively new to the musically eclectic city of Austin, Texas, by no means is he new to the music “game.” Rodriguez has been in bands, recording pop stars, rock stars in recording studios, or performing for well over 30 years.

 

Initially a trumpet player, who taught himself piano, he transitioned into a recording engineer, and later became a (Minnesota Music Award Winner, and Latin Grammy Award Nominated) producer/arranger.

In 2010, UGP, relocated to Austin, Texas. By 2012, UGP created, “Music Recording Production Technology” (MRPT). The students in the MRPT program are assigned to write, recorded, arrange and produce an original song, shoot/edit a music video, and uploaded it to YouTube.

Since then, Rodriguez has implemented the MRPT program into 3 more schools in Austin, 2 in Round Rock, and 1 in Lockhart.

 

Toby Minor

Toby Minor teaches Stage Combat and Movement at Texas State University, is Co-founder of Violent Crown, and is Co-Artistic Director of Crown Theatre ATX.  He has been a certified Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD) for 21 years.

He has choreographed violence at Texas State University, Zach Theatre, Austin Shakespeare, Austin Playhouse, Hidden Room Theatre and Penfold Theatre to name a few. He has been nominated and won several awards both locally (B. Iden Payne) and internationally (Falstaff Award),and his choreography has been featured at the Blackfriars conference and on The Globe stage in London.  His acting credits include several short films, commercials, voice over work and a rather lengthy list of stage productions in Austin, Chicago, Colorado and many points between.

Lexi Wood

Lexi graduated from AMDA New York in May 2020. She recently performed with Crown Theatre in Christmas On Main Street, as Veronica, and she is an experienced director and vocal coach.

 

Lexi is also an International Thespian
Society title holder, and was selected as one of the top ten performers to perform for the International Thespian Society Convention in 2018. She was then invited to direct and choreograph a group musical number for the Texas State Thespian Festival, which qualified for Nationals and got a superior ranking at the International Thespian Festival.

 

Lexi loves allaspects of Theatre but nothing is more rewarding than getting to see someone catch the theatre bug like she did and watch them grow as performers.
