Michael is an oil painter living in Austin, Texas. Although his subjects are diverse, his works are always experiential. His paintings explore the multitude of experiences that make up a human lifespan. It could be a lingering feeling from an island vacation, a landscape painted en plein air from the top of a mountain vista, or a portrait of someone he just met. Painting is the medium that gives those feelings space to materialize and be shared.  Recently he has been exploring human identity through life events. What people feel, think and act out as they move through life is based largely on what happens to them and their environment. Some events may alter the human identity permanently and others only temporarily. What are these events and what are the stories we tell ourselves as we navigate those experiences in our lives?
