About the Event

Join us in The Chambers Theatre for an evening dedicated to the art of visual storytelling at the 2026 Buda Arts Festival. The Frame Up brings together an eclectic lineup of moving and still imagery, from a 16mm short film and puppetry on film to student animation from St. Edward's University, documentary photography with an artist talk, and a new digital video exploring midcentury rural Texas television.

  • The Bicycle Thief — Zach Strum, 16mm film (2023), 2 min

  • Oiseaux Ciseaux (Scissor Birds) — Jeanne Stern, puppetry on film (2026), 3 min

  • St. Edward's University Student Film Shorts — animation, TBA titles (2026), 20 min

  • Documentary Photography — Betsy Woldman, still photography with artist talk (2022–2026), 15 min
