Building creative community through art, culture, and connection

Sinéad Whiteside is the co-owner and CEO of Inspired Minds Art Center in Buda, Texas, where she works to bring local artists and the community together through classes, camps, exhibitions, performances, and creative events for all ages. She helped build Inspired Minds as a place where artists can teach, share their work, build professional opportunities, and earn income, while the community has more chances to experience art, culture, and creativity in everyday life.

She is also a founder of Tandem Arts Partnership, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on making the arts more accessible through outreach, partnerships, and community work. Sinéad believes art is not extra. It helps people connect, grow, think differently, and feel more alive.

How Inspired Minds Began

Art has been part of Sinéad’s life since childhood, but what drives her work is bigger than making art. She cares deeply about what art does for people and for communities. With a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Education from Texas State University, she brings together a love of creativity, learning, and community-building.

After moving to Buda in 2014 with her husband, Michael, and their three children, Sinéad saw both a growing community and an incredible number of talented artists. She also saw a need for more opportunities to connect the two. Inspired Minds grew from that vision and became a place where artists and the community could come together to learn, create, connect, and feel part of something bigger.

What She Believes

Sinéad believes local artists matter. She believes children and adults need places where they can try new things, build skills, express themselves, and connect with other people face to face. She believes the arts help make a community more welcoming, more vibrant, and more alive.

That belief continues to shape her work in Buda and beyond.
